YOU HAVE TO MAKE EVERYTHING MORE YELLOW
What color are the buses and streetcars in Berlin? That's right: yellow. More precisely: RAL 1023 traffic yellow. And it has been for exactly 30 years. The new color not only visually united the transport companies of East and West Berlin - it became the city's emblem. We congratulate you on 30 glorious years, tell you how it came about and offer our CMB chest in RAL 1023 traffic yellow to mark the anniversary.
How traffic yellow became a Berlin landmark
RAL 1023 Traffic Yellow has been the color of the capital's buses, trains and subways since 1994. Ever since typographer and graphic designer Erik Spiekermann took on the corporate design of Berlin's public transport company and proposed and standardized this color as well as fonts and signs. After the first train of line 50 with vehicle number 5143 left the Niederschönhausen depot in the new color, all other BVG vehicles were gradually ordered in traffic yellow.
The sticker supplied with the chest with the lettering CMB-5143 is a tribute to that very first vehicle and can be placed on the chest if desired.
A tribute to the original: Stickers in the iconic BVG design
ADHESIVE
Chest and bench CMB-5143
The included, high-quality sticker with the lettering CMB-5143 in the corporate font specially designed by Spiekermann for BVG is a tribute to the very first BVG yellow car and can be placed on the chest if desired.
Versatile and practical: TRUHE CMB IN ALL COLORS
CMB TRAFFIC YELLOW
Chest and bench CMB-5143
Can be used as a chest and bench - CMB is a contemporary interpretation of one of the oldest types of furniture. It fulfills a variety of tasks in the home, office and living area. In the bedroom, for example, it provides storage space for bed linen, blankets and winter clothing in summer.
CMB ROTORANGE
Chest and bench CMB, RAL 2001 Red orange
CMB can be used in the hallway to store a pile of newspapers, rainwear and bicycle helmets, as well as crates of drinks. Thanks to the appropriate height, it also fulfills its role as a seat for two people - or for three little ones - at the kitchen table or in the hallway.
CMB LIGHT GREY
Chest and bench CMB, RAL 7035 Light grey
The CMB is easy to transport because the fixed castors attached to one end and the handles on the sides make it easy to maneuver even when loaded.
