HAY - Denmark's charm offensive
Denmark is a small country with a great design history that has been enriched by a new chapter for more than 15 years: the incomparable success of HAY. The three founders recognized the niche between inexpensive mass production on the one hand and exclusive design brands on the other and created an international brand for furniture and home accessories. The foundation of the range is formed by products that take up the Danish furniture design of the 1950s and 1960s, but develop a strong identity of their own in collaboration with designers worldwide and now have a style-defining effect.
The playful interpretation of modernity can be seen in the furniture series such as the Copenhague collection by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec: their CPH 30 table is based on famous design formats of the past, but tells its very own story with the help of material and construction. And the RESULT chair by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld was originally used as school furniture in classrooms. In the reworked version by HAY, it is now a chair for all kinds of purposes: whether in the dining room, kitchen, workroom or elsewhere.
The collaboration between the Danish furniture manufacturer and MAGAZIN has existed as long as the HAY company itself. This bond is reflected, among other things, in the company's own HAY-Markets with a wide range of products in the MAGAZIN stores in Stuttgart and Munich.
