WASTBERG+ - Swedish lighting

The Scandinavians know a thing or two about light. They know how to brighten up gloomy winter days and celebrate long summer nights. Magnus Wästberg, who is at home in southern Sweden with his company of the same name, has also dedicated himself to lighting. Magnus Wästberg grew up around his father's lighting company and actually studied economics, but he couldn't let go of light. In 2008, he founded his own company, WASTBERG+, with the aim of developing luminaires that radiate personality. Many luminaires on the market up to that point seemed too sterile, too inexpressive and too standardized.

He was inspired by a quote from Paul Klee. It expresses Wästberg's own thoughts with simplicity and elegance and became his lighting philosophy: "One eye sees, the other feels."

Over the years, Wästberg was able to win over the most renowned architects and designers for his idea. Today, greats such as Inga Sempé, David Chipperfield, Claesson Koivisto Rune and Dirk Winkel design WASTBERG+ luminaires. The collection is growing steadily and here too Magnus Wästberg keeps it Scandinavian: less is more. Luminaire designs have to be carefully considered and sophisticated, restrained and full of warmth to be accepted into the WASTBERG+ family.

WASTBERG+ luminaires inspire us with their few components, sophisticated technology and precise lighting effect. This skillful combination of aesthetics and cutting-edge technology has already won numerous international design awards. In our stores, we also offer an even larger selection of luminaires from the likeable Swedish manufacturer.

  • We share a common attitude with all our manufacturers: we sell well-designed products and take a critical look at materials and manufacturing processes.
