MIDGARD LICHT - THE LIGHT GUIDES
ALL PRODUCTS FROM MIDGARD LICHT
When light starts to move
Light is good. Light where you need it is even better. Since 1919, Midgard Licht has been directing light and giving it a modern form. More precisely: since engineer Curt Fischer filed a patent application for the world's first adjustable luminaire and founded Midgard, the luminaire manufacturer still based in Auma, Thuringia, today. And he struck a chord with the avant-garde of architecture and product design: Walter Gropius, for example, furnished the newly emerging Bauhaus in Dessau with the machine-like, high-precision luminaires. The company still produces its classics - including the first spring-loaded luminaire - on the original tools today. And more: in collaboration with designers such as Stefan Diez and Sebastian Herkner, Midgard develops new luminaires - just as groundbreaking as they were back then, and just as valuable in the truest sense of the word. What they all have in common is their adaptability via movable - and well-shaped - elements and mechanical principles.
