25kg. The name of the Berlin label reads like a weight - which its founder, one of the most influential German designers, Konstantin Grcic, expressly likes. After all, this is indication enough that something physical is involved. The fact that 25 stands for the year the company was founded and kg for Grcic's initials is as laconic as the products that the designer produces under this name: "Things. Things. Just as he conceived them, free of compromise and designed to stimulate discourse. Playful, experimental and above all: honest. Sounds like MAGAZIN. And like cooperation: Things is only available at 25kg and MAGAZIN.
THING_01 is a three-legged stool made of stainless steel and one of the "Things" that designer Konstantin Grcic produces himself under his own label 25kg: exactly as he conceived it and free from compromises with the furniture industry. You sit or lean on THING_01 the way you intuitively sit on a railing: on a horizontal tube, your feet placed on two of the three legs. Everyone knows this gesture, Grcic transforms it into furniture. As direct as Grcic is known and as unpretentious as MAGAZIN prefers.
Only available from Grcic himself and at MAGAZIN: the space for the luminaire that doesn't actually need one. After all, Konstantin Grcic designed his MAYDAY luminaire so that it can hang, stand and illuminate almost anywhere. A lighting tool - ready for use and mobile. Now the luminaire has a fixed place, as befits a tool: for returning from use or simply as an ideal position wherever light is needed.
