VIVA A COR
Welcome to the land of strong colors - welcome to Portugal! Here, the young design scene combines old craftsmanship with innovative concepts. A vibrant mixture of tradition and urban impulses. By the way: the Portuguese love of color stems from African and Brazilian influences. Vamos em frente! Boa viagem!
MAGAZIN Travel tip
**Tom, Head of Product Management, has a second home: Portugal **
"The Ponto Final restaurant on Lisbon's harbor pier has a fantastic view of the city and the red suspension bridge Ponte 25 de Abril. The specialty there: Arroz de Marisco. The best puff pastries are the Pastéis de Belém from the ancient pastry shop of the same name dating back to 1837. I take them with me to my favorite beach, Praia do Ursa, a small sandy bay with impressive rock formations."

Recipe idea: Pastéis de Nata
Pastéis de Nata are small, golden-brown vanilla cakes from Portugal. Add a strong espresso and we feel like we're in a street café in Lisbon.
Ingredients:
1 roll of puff pastry (fresh or frozen, defrosted)
250 ml milk
250 ml cream
150 g sugar
3 egg yolks
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 vanilla pod
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Zest of half a lemon (optional)
Preparation:
- shape the puff pastry into a thick pastry roll and cut into twelve equal slices. Place the pastry slices in a muffin tin and press into small pastry shells.
- For the filling, heat the milk and cream with the sugar and vanilla extract (or vanilla pod). Optionally, add a cinnamon stick and lemon zest.
- Mix the flour with a little warm milk until smooth and add to the hot mixture until a thick cream forms. Once cooled, stir in the egg yolk. Pour about three quarters of the cream into the ramekins and bake at 220 °C for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and dark spots appear.
