The work and the person Otl Aicher have numerous facets. Aicher became world-famous through the appearance he developed for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. The pictograms designed for the event created a visual language that is used in public spaces all over the world today. The visual identity of many companies, including Lufthansa, ERCO and Bulthaup, originates from his hand. As co-founder, teacher and rector of the legendary Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm, he left his mark on several generations of designers.
