Inspired by the ballet pieces "Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake", Theresa Baumgärtner travels to the pre-Christmas Allgäu. The landscape around Neuschwanstein Castle is the snow-dusted winter backdrop for her creations. The author visits an Allgäu confectioner and returns to her home kitchen in Luxembourg full of inspiration. Her Christmas bakery smells seductively of vanilla crescents and gingerbread, of the finest macaroons and crunchy nut dalers. Classics like cinnamon stars and Springerle are not to be missed, but she also surprises with many new, heavenly creations.
