Wrapping paper p98a Typo Real

Literally well set: This wrapping paper is hand-printed on MetaPaper Newspaper in blue, silver and Day-Glo red using the letterpress process from original FF Real wooden lettering by Erik Spiekermann. You can see the printing process in the numbers and characters: The fine color gradients and structures created by the pressure exerted make the colored surfaces appear lively. The sheets are 50x70 cm in size and also cut a fine figure as posters.

p98a is the experimental letterpress workshop for working with letters, prints and paper by graphic designer and typographer Erik Spiekermann in Berlin. Here, designers from various disciplines investigate how traditional letterpress printing can be redefined in the 21st century. They print, research, collect, publish and produce things. With lead and wooden typefaces, a number of proof presses, a Simplex platen and other analog devices, which are combined with digital techniques such as Risograph and Glowforge lasers.
