General Information
We have a weakness for blankets made of natural materials, especially if they are such soft, warming merino wool as here. But not always the colors correspond to our ideas. Then we reach into the color pot ourselves and have the good things made not only in the material of our choice, but also according to our color wishes - like these colorful merino wool blankets. The colors of the warp yarns we have selected ourselves, and some blankets you can get in these colors (in sage, fir, rosehip, rosé and yellow) only at Manufactum.

When the weather gets chilly and damp, you’ll sit warm and soft with such a blanket. Woven from finest merino wool, these blankets feel especially soft and welcoming. Merino wool is the perfect material to snuggle up with: The fabric does not scratch, qualifies as a light-weight and has excellent insulation properties. The crimped structure of the wool fibres traps air in tiny pockets and forms an insulating layer keeping you pleasantly warm or – in the summer – agreeably cool. A new wool blanket is a blanket for all occasions. We want them to fit in with all styles, so we have them made in a wide range of colours. To make the blankets even more voluminous and soft, they get a buffed surface on carding machines equipped with real dried teasel fruit pods. Finally, a neatly and cleanly working chain stitch machine – an ancient model that has become rare – provides the blankets with a bordering in contrasting colours.
