Towel waffle piqué

In contrast to most waffle piqué cloths, the typical relief-like structure of the fabric here consists of very large honeycombs. This gives it a special look, but also makes a difference to the touch. Despite its average weight of 380 g/sqm, the fabric is softer and more supple overall - but still creates a light massage effect when drying. The easy-care towel is made from organic cotton, which is twisted into a fine, yet hard-wearing yarn with a yarn count of Nm 20/2. When washed for the first time, the fabric shrinks, which reinforces the structure of the waffle piqué and makes the towel even easier to grip. A ribbon sewn on at intervals serves as a hanger; a corner of the shower and bath towel can be pulled through here to wear it like a sarong.

The Danish textile label The Organic Company is not only committed to good, functional design, but also to a considerate approach to the environment and resources. To achieve this, founder Joy Vasiljev only uses cotton from controlled organic cultivation for her textiles. The sewing threads are also made from cotton - which is not a matter of course - just like the fabrics. Since 2010, The Organic Company has also been certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), which means that the items are made from natural materials and dyed with harmless substances and that the entire production chain is also monitored to ensure that production takes place under fair conditions. The designs are created in collaboration with Danish textile designers - always with the aim of making the textiles so well thought-out and appealing that they are enjoyed and, above all, used for a long time.
