Textile tulip fields
When textile factories dye yarns, they often produce more than they need - just in case. This results in so-called overproduction, yarns that are not needed after all. But what to do with it? The Dutch designer Foekje Fleur has an idea.
For the textiles in her ODDS & ENDS collection, Foekje Fleur collects yarn remnants from the textile industry and weaves them into cotton home textiles: Tea towels, dishcloths, washcloths and shower towels in complex graphic patterns. Sometimes in well-proportioned blocks of color reminiscent of tulip fields seen from the air - Fleur is Dutch! Sometimes in brightly colored, overlapping and intersecting lines of varying thickness. The striking color scheme depends on the available surplus production. And is designed in batches: After sifting through the available yarns, Fleur puts together the finely balanced color combinations of a new batch of the collection. If the yarns run out, she replaces individual colors or creates a completely new combination. The main thing is that she can save material that is threatened with disposal. In general, it is important to the designer that all her products contribute to the conscious use of our resources. The BUBBLE BUDDY soap dish, for example, makes it possible to produce different liquid cleansers using the integrated soap grater and in combination with the corresponding soap bars - without any disposable packaging.

HOME TEXTILES ODDS & ENDS
Odds & Ends towel series, Face Towel
The scarves from ODDS & ENDS are made in Portugal and are easily recognizable by their striped hem woven on a jacquard machine. Practically all scarves are provided with a hanger and are quick-drying. Small variations in color within a batch are planned, as are slight differences in size due to production.

Soap bars have their fixed place on BUBBLE BUDDY and can be stored dry thanks to the removable grid. The grid itself serves as a grater when turned upside down: it can be used to make fine soap flakes which, when dissolved in water, can be used to make bubble bath, suds, all-purpose cleaner or liquid shampoo, depending on the type of soap bar.
