This stapler from Japan owes its name (pronounced gatschak) to the sound that accompanies the performance of its task and dominates the background noise in Japanese offices and authorities. The plastic housing accommodates eight 16 mm wide staples, one of which is widened at the outlet opening by means of a sliding mechanism, which then reliably joins loose papers (up to 25 sheets). The staples can be easily removed (like paper clips) without damaging the paper, are reusable and are also suitable for temporary (because reversible) binding, as they connect the papers laterally with two or four staples each.
