Soap holder recycled fishing nets

Less is more - in this case even a lot of sea (more on this later). Completely focused on its function, at first glance this soap holder seems to take a back seat to its soap. However, its minimalism makes it a fascinating eye-catcher, especially when you remove the soap to wash it. And last but not least, it helps to reduce plastic waste: as a small miracle of reuse.

You can even play an active part in the latter by contributing an old crown cap to call the soap holder to work: Simply press your crown cap into the soap of your choice (a greasy soap that won't tear is best) - and it will work as a perfectly fitting counter-pole for the magnet that is integrated into the soap holder and holds the bar of soap in place.

Our oceans are a precious habitat and together they form the largest interconnected ecosystem on earth. Protecting the oceans and keeping them clean is the goal of future-oriented action. To avoid plastic waste in the sea, it is best not to let it get in in the first place and to recycle used plastic products instead. That is why 90 percent of the granulate from which these soap holders are made is obtained from shredded old fishing nets and ropes. Only two percent of the granulate consists of stabilizers to ensure the durability of the recycled material. Pigments make up the remaining eight percent of the material.

Finally, the soap holder is fitted with a strong, FairMagnet-certified magnet exclusively for Manufactum: FairMagnet is a German-Chinese cooperation that aims to improve environmental protection and occupational safety in raw magnet production and is based on the ten principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.

Thanks to the vegan adhesive pad on the back, you can attach the soap holder to all clean, smooth surfaces: It adheres securely to tiles, glass or metal - up to a weight of 250 grams, it holds your soap or even solid shampoo and shower gel there at a practical access height. Our tip: To achieve the best possible adhesion, it is best to clean the tiles with an alcohol-free cleaning agent beforehand and warm them briefly with a hairdryer before applying the adhesive pad.

These magnets are extremely powerful and must absolutely not come within range of a pacemaker! The same applies to magnetic data banks, mechanical clocks or compasses. Make sure they dont collide, especially from a distance – they might splinter.
