This version of a sliding door for the rack FIP is made of a fascinating new material: kraftplex®. The composite wood consists entirely of unbleached cellulose fibres made from sustainably cultivated, FSC-certified Scandinavian softwoods. The manufacturers remove the lignin, a natural binder in wood, from the timber during the manufacturing process. Then they have the cellulose fibres pressed – literally baked – into boards using thermal energy. This process interlocks the fibres to such an extent that they can dispense with all adhesives and chemical additives. The wood-based material named kraftplex® is manufactured in Switzerland and southern Germany. The corrugated and dimensionally stable panels feature a refined surface structure and a medium-brown wood-like colour.

Carcass: The heart of FIP is its carcass. You can mount it on the wall using the matching wall rail or combine the carcass with the FIP base frame and build a sideboard.

Base frame: The base frame turns FIP into a sideboard when positioned under the carcass. What’s more, each base frame features plug-in connections that enable you to use the frame between two carcass elements on top of each other to set up a double-height sideboard.

Wall rail: The wall rail allows you to mount the carcass to a wall and use FIP as a floating bookshelf – or you equip the carcass with an extra shelf, a sliding door or both and turn FIP into a shelf unit with a closed front.

Sliding door: The sliding doors transform FIP’s open cabinets into closed storage spaces. One carcass can hold one or two sliding doors.

Separate shelf: The separate shelves provide the option for additional partitions in a carcass. The clear height of the carcasses cabinets’ is 33 cm. You can divide the cabinets’ height by inserting one or more of the shelves and choose from compartment heights of 8.5 cm, 16 cm or 23.5 cm. One carcass can hold up to six shelves.
