Double-sided kilim made from 100% wool. The carefully color-coordinated wool threads are woven on hand looms to create a graphic pattern that - based on the culture of the Sioux, one of the indigenous peoples of North America - lines up acute-angled crosses to form diamonds.

The historical diamond patterns of the Sioux are a central component of their traditional art and were used in particular in bead or quill embroidery. The diamond - often referred to as a diamond shape - is a dominant motif. It stands for the four cardinal points or symbolizes the bison, which had a spiritual and vital significance for the Sioux. Such patterns were historically embroidered on moccasins, cradles, clothing, bags and tipi decorations. Traditionally, dyes obtained from nature were used, later glass beads in various colors were added through trade with Europeans.

Odosdesign transfers this traditional, graphic element into the modern age and translates it into a textile form with the Rombo rug. The pattern in coral is flanked by smaller crosses in a warm brown tone, while two single-colored stripes complete the motif on the short sides.

The hand-weaving technique makes it possible to design each rug thread by thread in detail and to create a dense yet lightweight textile with a surface of tangibly high quality. Highly recommended for barefoot walkers!
