When a portable power source becomes an architectural feature: With NOMAD, the Swedish manufacturer FORMING FUNCTION brings the power strip out from behind the sofa and the table, transforming what is arguably the most hidden yet most frequently used product into a well-thought-out, beautifully designed, and expertly crafted addition to your desk, side tables, and more.
These visually stunning power strips come with either one or three Schuko outlets; the second and fourth outlets, respectively, are each equipped with two USB-C ports. The housing is made of aluminum and designed so that all components remain accessible, repairable, and replaceable. Future-proofing is also built in: Should the USB-C interface ever cease to be the connection of choice, the module can be swapped out for one equipped with new technologies. This way, the NOMAD outlets are designed to last a lifetime, if possible. And if they do eventually need to be disposed of, all components can be separated from one another and recycled individually. Another practical feature is the magnetic underside of the power strips, which allows the mobile system to attach to any ferromagnetic surface. For all other surfaces, the power strip comes with a metal plate featuring a self-adhesive backing. The 3-meter-long cable ensures freedom of movement.
A particularly nice touch: The components are handcrafted in Sweden—and it shows!
