A versatile table frame for work and living spaces: lightweight, portable, tool-free to assemble, and adaptable to various uses. At the heart of the design is the centrally mounted swivel joint: infinitely adjustable and capable of being set at any angle, it allows for the use of a wide variety of tabletop sizes and shapes. When folded flat, it can be easily carried and stored to save space. The name says it all: LEVI is the Latin word for “light” and, in this case, refers both to its low weight and the resulting ease of use.

Whether as a work desk in the office, a dining table in living spaces, or a quick-to-set-up side table anywhere, LEVI can be combined with and used with round, rectangular, and square tabletops. Practical: Unlike other frames, the cross-shaped arrangement of the legs ensures the same amount of legroom all around. And if you’d like to put your feet up every now and then, simply turn LEVI upside down and use the cross at the bottom for this purpose.

LEVI was developed at the Bauhaus University in Weimar as part of a project on the theme of “the workplace.” The question that the two designers, Marie Kurstjens and Iva Coskun, asked themselves was: What must a table be capable of when used in spaces where configurations change—where things are taken apart, put together, or rearranged? LEVI is their answer, effortlessly solving many tasks within the space.
