General Information
Christmas in a matchbox. Miniature kits perfect for the Advent calendar, as a small Christmas present or as a souvenir in the run-up to Christmas. Handcrafted in the tradition of Erzgebirge wood art. The kits are made from local woods such as beech, birch, maple, alder, walnut, cherry and ash.
Manufacturing Loquai Holzkunst
The production of the kits is done by the company Loquai-Holzkunst. It was founded in 1934 by Rudolf Arwed Loquai in the small Erzgebirge town of Augustusburg. After the end of the war, the company founder found a new home after detours in the Palatinate and moved the company headquarters to Pöttmes. Here the production of wooden toys and gift boxes began. Production continues to follow the Erzgebirge tradition, and since 1955 all products have been made from natural precious woods.
Together with the design agency covermade, the company has been developing unique matchbox kits of famous landmarks and detailed Christmas kits for several years.
