General Information
Set of 12 differently designed postcards by Dutch graphic designer and typographer Karel Martens - a colorful insight into the unmistakable visual and typographic language of the influential Dutch designer.
The edition was published on the occasion of Martens' first major retrospective at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 2025 (Karel Martens - Unbound). The motifs show Martens' characteristic design with bold colors, geometric overlays and typographic experimentation.
The versatile repertoire of the graphic artist, born in 1939, includes books, catalogs, typography, posters and experimental prints. His work also includes the color concept for the beach huts in Le Havre, France, as well as the striking COLOURS ON THE BEACH towel series for the manufacturer SUITE702.
