This is made possible by the MAGAZIN team's long-standing personal relationships with the suppliers who produce special versions for us. Because whether it's a coat rack, a chair or a pillbox: good design can sometimes be special.

Anyone can do chrome-plated! The mobile clothes rack has not only proven its worth in clothing stores or fashion studios. The lightweight tubular metal structure has also replaced the bulky closet in many people's homes. But usually with a shiny silver-chrome surface. At MAGAZIN, the PORTANT clothes rack is also available with a powder-coated black frame - and now in RAL color 3026 bright red, a really bright neon red. This turns a mute servant into a cheerful companion. The manufacturer of PORTANT has sought out external expertise in powder coating, as it actually specializes in chrome plating as a surface finish. PORTANT thus joins the series of special editions that MAGAZIN produces together with manufacturers. The maxim: to create unique versions of well-known, tried-and-tested products that are only available at MAGAZIN. The special editions often differ from the standard version by a special color, but not only: The Swiss company Schaffner produces the WALLIS chair exclusively in a version with a seat and backrest made of perforated sheet metal.
One of the MAGAZIN bestsellers from the very beginning is also one of the products available as a special edition. The FRANKFURTER KITCHEN CHAIR from the 1930s is rightly considered a classic - its shape is so simple and clear. It is usually seen in plain black, white or in the natural shade of the beech wood from which it is made. MAGAZIN has had the design manufactured by a furniture manufacturer in Poland that specializes in large quantities since the mid-1980s. Thanks to the long-standing good relationship with the MAGAZIN team, they were open to the idea of a special edition: the FRANKFURTER KITCHEN CHAIR is also available at MAGAZIN in a cheerful pale green or a harmonious dove blue. Suggestions for special versions are usually met with an open ear by the suppliers - and are implemented without complications. The manufacturers with whom MAGAZIN has been able to realize special editions in recent years include well-known names such as Hay, Montana, Wagner, Midgard and the textile producer Røros.
Niche companies are also happy to offer their products in other variants. For example, the MONOLITH pillbox, developed by a Munich pharmacist as an alternative to plastic pillboxes, which are not convincing in terms of either design or quality. MONOLITH, on the other hand, has an aluminum casing and a tablet drawer made of maple wood and is manufactured by craftsmen in Germany. In addition to the standard version with a silver anodized aluminium housing, MAGAZIN is the only retailer to offer this everyday helper in a vibrant shade of red. In this color, the pillbox is guaranteed not to be overlooked - and the medication is taken on time. It's nice when something special is also so useful.
