High-back chair Säntis, hot-dip galvanized

The high-back chair from the series SÄNTIS, matching the chair of the same name and, like the latter, robust but delicate and, thanks to the indestructible, galvanized tubular steel frame, can be used outdoors without restrictions. The special feature of this version: it is covered with the so-called OceanYarn®. This cord material, manufactured in Switzerland, is 100 percent yarn recycled from ocean plastic. This type of cord covering adapts individually to pressure exerted, thus reacting to the user's body shape and load, making SÄNTIS extraordinarily comfortable. Millions of tons of plastic bottles, plastic bags and packaging materials are floating in the oceans and covering the seabed. They threaten wildlife and the livelihoods of people living along the coasts. OceanYarn® is a yarn recycled from ocean plastic. It is made from collected mixed plastics that are shredded, cleaned and processed into granules in a specially developed process. From the high-strength OceanYarn® yarn upcycled in this way, Swiss rope producer Meister produces a special rope that can be used to cover garden furniture. In this way, the production of new plastics is reduced and a contribution is made to cleaning up the world's oceans. This rope is processed for the outdoor furniture series SÄNTIS. With this covering of recycled plastics, the series evolves one step further towards a more sustainable furniture.
