General Information
The Austrian Leinenweberei Vieböck manufactures for us this bread bag basket: made of natural linen of European origin and solid design. We have specially sized it a little larger, so that it offers enough capacity when you store your (home-baked) bread in it.
Bread basket and bread bag in one
This bread bag basket proves to be extremely practical for two reasons: First, it is made of a strong linen fabric, which is particularly suitable for going to the bakery and storing bread and rolls. Linen can absorb and also release a lot of moisture, so it provides a perfect microclimate in the bread bag and keeps the bread fresh and juicy for a long time. Since flax contains no animal protein, it is less susceptible to mold. The linen fibers also have a very smooth surface to which dirt and bacteria hardly adhere. This makes linen less susceptible to dirt and it is easy to clean. It is naturally antistatic and therefore does not attract dust anyway.
The second great advantage of the bread bag is that it can be converted into a bread basket in no time: Simply fold down the upper part and it can be placed on the table together with fresh bread. Its stability is due to the weight of the linen fabric, which is double layered. You can hide the ribbon that is otherwise used for tying under the flap or decoratively tie it into a bow.
