Just a glass series? Almost. EUGENIA is a direct homage to Alberto Alessi, whose love of wine culminated in the founding of a vinicola—a winery—with the evocative name “La signora Eugenia e il passero solitario” (Mrs. Eugenia and the Lonely Sparrow). Its products are sold in bottles based on a design by Leonardo da Vinci. Drawing inspiration from the distinctive shape of this very bottle, Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa developed this delicate glassware series with minimalist, refined contours, in which the obtuse angle at the top of the glass is the defining design feature.

The series consists of water glasses, red wine glasses, white wine glasses, champagne glasses, and a decanter.
