The pencil factory Cretacolor from Hirm in Burgenland produces not only pencils, but also watercolor pencils. In this form they exist only from Cretacolor. They are not wood-cased, but consist of a pure, water-paintable colored lead, which is coated with a thin, color-identical layer of varnish. This allows the pencils to be used to create both fine lines and large areas. The balanced coordination of color pigments, fillers and binders with water-soluble waxes enables a colorful, soft stroke. These pencils produce a result similar to watercolors painted with a brush; unlike these, however, the pencils can be used to paint into the wet or dry picture and to set accents. Sharpen them with a normal sharpener.

They are not wood-cased, but consist of a pure colored watercolor lead coated with a thin layer of varnish in the same color. With this watercolor pencils you can draw fine lines as well as large areas. The balanced adjustment of the color pigments and bonding agents with water soluble waxes allows an intensively colored, soft swab. As a result they look like painted water colors, but, here, with these pencils you can draw in the wet and dry motive and place accents. The watercolor pencils can be sharpened with a normal pencil sharpener.
