Muslin scarf
The MUSSELIN scarf is made from 100% certified organic cotton and is handmade in Poland. Compared to conventional wool blankets, muslin is more versatile: warm and cozy in winter, light and airy and refreshingly cool in summer. The three-layer material is durable, breathable, hard-wearing and absorbent. The cloths become softer and more supple with every wash. Muslin is a cotton fabric that can be washed and spun at 30 to 40 °C. This creates the typical crinkle effect. This creates the typical crinkle structure. It should be noted that the fabric can lose up to 10 % of its width in the dryer, and heavy crinkling also has an effect on the size of the cloth. The fabric can be smoothed out again at any time by gentle ironing.
Furoshiki
A furoshiki is a square cloth that is traditionally used in Japan as a wrapping and carrying bag. They were originally used in Japanese bathhouses (onsen) to wrap clothes and avoid confusion more than 1,000 years ago. The traditional furoshiki fell into disuse for a long time due to the mass production of plastic and paper bags, which were then considered old-fashioned and cumbersome. In the interests of sustainable use of resources and environmental protection, this Japanese tradition is experiencing a revival and is enjoying increasing popularity. Whether as a bag for different items or as waste-avoiding gift wrapping - the versatile cloth can even be used to transport bottles or melons. It always depends on the right technique or the right knot so that the wrapped item can be transported easily and comfortably. The art of gift-giving in JapanIn Japan, if you want to give a gift, you traditionally wrap it in a furoshiki. However, giving a gift does not simply mean handing a person a present, but rather taking into account how the other person feels at that moment, how they will transport their gift home and how they will use it in the future. The meaning lies all the more in the act of giving and the consideration for the person receiving the gift. It is about the gesture, less about the value of the gift. The Japanese believe that good friendships with others are maintained and deepened by placing special emphasis on tradition and the way in which gifts are given.More than just a piece of clothFuroshiki is not only a particularly stylish and mindful way of giving, it is also a sustainable method - making it more relevant than ever in today's throwaway society. The idea of wrapping a gift in something that lasts, that is not thrown away but appreciated and reused, is more than inspiring. The possible uses for the square cloths are almost limitless. Whether it's a simple grocery bag on the way to the shops or an aesthetically knotted gift - MUSSELIN cloths are practical, versatile and, above all, durable. More and more people are trying to live consciously and reduce waste. Why not at least rethink when giving gifts?
