REVOLT CHAIR was originally designed by Friso Kramer during his work at the Dutch furniture manufacturer Ahrend in the 1950s. In a collaboration between Ahrend and HAY, this furniture, what is considered one of the icons of Dutch design, is experiencing its revival. REVOLT CHAIR embodies Friso Kramer's distinctive minimalist style, influenced by the era. At the time, a revolutionary design, in which the construction of the steel base seems particularly remarkable. Common for chairs of this type was a round tube, but here this gives way to a u-shaped steel frame construction. The chair, which is now produced using the original process, retains the functionality and sturdy construction of the original model from the middle of the last century. Contemporary are the colors and material selection of the seat and backrest. The latter consists of a mixture of recycled and new ABS material in various color options. The black ABS material is made of 100% recycled ABS, while the colored versions are made of 30% recycled ABS and 70% so-called "virgin" ABS.
