Chair Frankfurt kitchen chair

A powerful archetype and comfortable, indestructible chair. What distinguishes the so-called FRANKFURTER KÜCHENSTUHL, in addition to its outstanding seating comfort, is its versatile combinability - hardly a table, hardly a place where it cannot be harmoniously combined, at the dining table or in the café as a valued and naturally used chair. What we particularly like about it is its unpretentious design and form. It is a chair as it is written in the book: The front square legs straight, the rear ones slightly curved, the backrest curved, the seat almost straight with a slight seat hollow. Its overall solid construction, as well as the interesting interlocking of the front seat frame with the front legs in terms of wood and construction, make any further cross-bracing between the chair legs unnecessary. At the beginning of the 1930s, this type of chair developed as a standard chair for individual use in both private and public areas. There it served for many decades as seating in schools, government offices and public institutions. MAGAZIN revived the production of the kitchen chair in the 1980s, and since its material and shape reminded us of features of the so-called "Frankfurt kitchen", it was given this name. We have it produced in the wide and slightly higher version with the backrest made of beech plywood according to the exact design from the 1930s. The untreated version patinates quickly. If not desired, it can be oiled, waxed or painted as desired.
