At last! Bench SALUT is a contemporary interpretation of the classic beer bench. A beer bench, only better, so to speak. The design is new - the virtues of the tried and tested furniture type remain: SALUT is sturdily built, equipped with robust folding joints and is easy to store and transport. As the two planks of its seat are inclined inwards by 7 degrees and its legs are slightly angled, the bench is not only comfortable, it is also extremely stable. A beer bench without the risk of tipping over. This is not the only reason why SALUT looks good as a permanent fixture in the garden or on the patio - the tilted seat allows rain to run off between the planks, is made of weather-resistant Douglas fir and, like the powder-coated substructure made of bent steel plates, can withstand being outdoors all year round. Floris Schoonderbeek and Dick van Hoff founded the label WELTEVREE® in 2007 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The two designers transfer original and, at the same time, wonderfully simple ideas into excellent craftsmanship. They cooperate closely with experienced producers and suppliers and have authentic products created in their workshops that show one thing outright: Their design derives directly from life – not from an image on a computer screen. The functionality of WELTEVREE®’s products is evident at first sight. One doesn’t need to be a design expert to imagine how nice it is to cook outdoors, relax in a wood-heated bath anywhere or roll a bench effortlessly from one place to another. WELTEVREE® is modern and innovative, yet at the same time ironic and totally unimpressed by current design trends. The label combines unorthodox design solutions with traditional craftsmanship and solid materials. The manufacturers understand functionality and quality as the basis for feeling comfortable, after all. Besides, the old Dutch word “weltevree”, indeed, means “very satisfied”.
