Nutcracker & Swan

Inspired by the ballet pieces "Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake", Theresa Baumgärtner travels to the Allgäu in the run-up to Christmas. The landscape around Neuschwanstein Castle is the snow-dusted winter backdrop for her creations. The author visits an Allgäu confectioner and returns to her home kitchen in Luxembourg full of inspiration. Her Christmas bakery smells seductively of vanilla crescents and gingerbread, of the finest macaroons and crispy walnut tartlets. Classics such as cinnamon stars and Springerle are a must, but she also surprises with many new, heavenly creations.
