General Information

From Japan. Ergonomic. Hand-forged

What is true of Japanese knives is also true of Japanese scissors: they are extremely sharp because they are made of carbon steel. This one is also - as you can easily see from the stamped characters - made by hand, from forging to grinding and polishing to final assembly (although it's not quite as detailed as that). Simply shaped to fit the anatomy of the hand, made of solid metal and fitted with a strong torsion spring, the scissors with their hardened blades are suitable for pruning shrubs, roses and woody plants (up to 2.5 cm branch diameter).

Cutting Tools. For a good cut: how to choose the right model

For the selection of the right garden shears is first to answer the question, what should be cut. Our scissors differ in material, size, weight and equipment, so that each has a specific area of responsibility. Basically, we distinguish between two types of scissors: In bypass shears, two blades slide past each other, leaving a clean, smooth interface; in anvil shears, on the other hand, a sharp blade meets the stationary anvil. Bypass shears are particularly suitable for precise cuts requiring little force on thinner pruning material - such as roses, shrubs or perennials - while anvil shears can be used to make powerful cuts on stronger branches; they are thus particularly suitable for pruning woody plants. In our range you will then find, for example, specialists for topiary or thinning, for a particularly hand-friendly operation or an extra strong cut for particularly thick branches.

  • Extrasharp: hardened carbon steel blades
  • Ergonomic: shaped according to the anatomy of the hand

Whatever is said about Japanese knives is also true of Japanese scissors: they are extremely sharp, as they are made from carbon steel. As can be seen from the embossed characters, all the manufacturing processes, from forging, grinding and polishing to final assembly are carried out by hand (not that you could read all this from the characters). And they are an example of the Japanese love of tools which combines simplicity of design with maximum usefulness. Simply designed to fit the hand they are manufactured from solid metal with a powerful torsion spring and with their hardened blades are suitable for cutting shrubs, roses and bushes.

Length 19.5 cm, blade length 6 cm, weight 220 g.
