For more than half a century, this chair has been an icon of this furniture genre. It was widely used as a school chair and in public institutions, especially in the Netherlands. In collaboration between the original manufacturer Ahrend and the Danish brand Hay it underwent a thorough revision and above all an adaptation to contemporary seat dimensions. The chair is recommended - also in combination with the formally very matching tables PYRAMID - as an ideal dining chair. Its steel frame construction, which is both light and very technical in appearance, consists of load-bearing, U-shaped steel profiles held in place by a tube running under the seat. The seat is straight, its back, also made of laminated wood, is slightly flexible via rubber bearings and adapts to body pressure. Rubber feet protect delicate floors.
